COMPRESSION * TRANSFER * INJECTION MOLDING
JMC specializes in both THERMOSET COMPRESSION and TRANSFER MOLDING and THERMOPLASTIC INJECTION MOLDING.
From a customer’s design or blueprint, JMC has the ability to make the necessary mold, to assist in selection of the proper material to meet the finished parts requirements and manufacture the finished part. JMC also can assist in the assembly and packaging of parts if necessary.
COMPRESSION MOLDING
Compression molding utilizes thermoset plastic compound which are chemically set with the application of heat and pressure. They are inherently less expensive and can prove cost effective. These compounds provide heat, dimensional, and flame stability that cannot be matched by thermoplastics.
Our thermoset division molds parts for electrical, electronics, cooking utensils, meter cases, automotive, water testing equipment and many other industries.
Transfer molding is a form of compression molding. In transfer molding the bulk molding compound is pre-formed into pills which are then compressed by heat and pressure to form a finished part. Transfer molding is a more exact method and produces less flash on the end component part.
INJECTION MOLDING
Injection molding utilizes thermoplastic resins which are placed in a hopper, melted and injected with pressure into a mold. Thermoplastic materials are “pre-reacted” resins which can be melted and reused. Injection molding makes use of this characteristic to form intricate thin walled parts using relatively expensive engineered materials. Injected molded parts can be made of Nylon, ABS, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, Styrene and PVC in many different colors.
Our injection molding department produces component part for telephone systems, computer, automotive, boat, electronics, aerosol caps and household items.
